The Dan bishop Band was Formerly Mixed Nutz
From One Dan to Another & From Me to You Too! By Dan McCarthy
I was delighted to hear from representative Louise Grinsell about the “lean & mean act” that enjoys playing at Four Doors Down that is now referred to as the Dan Bishop Band. Back before 2015, the Dan Bishop Band was billed as The Mixed Nuts and The Mixed Nuts did play at Four Doors Down.
The founder of the Dan Bishop Band is guitarist and vocalist Dan Hurney. Dan is joined by two others: Berklee Music School graduate Glen Bishop who is on keyboards and joins-in with vocals. Glen is “a veteran on the NYC piano lounge circuit,” and is also a music teacher. On bass and vocals and on the harmonica too is Michael French. Michael has performed on three continents.
Dan Hurney said: “We always love playing at Four Doors Down, it’s good food, nice atmosphere, and a great crowd. They always make us feel right at home.” Dan Hurney added: “We always play to a great crowd of locals and vacationers and are looking forward to 2016.”
They recently played there while electric linemen from Maine were still reinforcing the electric lines damaged by Sandy. The linemen came in and did some fine Irish dancing.

I wanted to let you know that Mixed Nutz, Dan, Bob, Glenn were fantastic and fit right in with the crowd here in Orient for our pig roast. The fellows were here early, the crowd was full of fun and the music genre was spot on. That you for your follow through on our behalf. All went amazing well. We hope to have them back next year!
